Nexus Mentoring Team

My role as the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Nexus Mentoring converges my passions, skills, education, and life experiences. Prior to this new initiative, I served as the Staff Director at Healing Grove Health Center and as the Founding Director of Gateway Preschool Academy.  From decades of educating young minds and empowering adults to raise children with joy and effectiveness, I am excited to guide individuals in embracing their unique identities, purpose, and potential and empowering the strength of their leadership.

Outside of work, I actively engage with nonprofit organizations, strategically developing people and programs that benefit local and global communities. I enjoy white water rafting, camping, fishing, and hiking with my husband and four daughters. I also enjoy a good cup of coffee with friends or a new book.

I’m so excited to be the Co-Founder and Strategic Development Director of Nexus Mentoring. I just retired from being a teacher and mentor at Valley Christian High School and loved sharing my industry experience as I taught business, entrepreneurship, and DECA. Prior to teaching, I worked over 20 years at Hewlett Packard in supply chain operations. My last role was as a Senior Director leading my team to get computers to our national retailers. At Nexus Mentoring, I hope to mentor young adults as they grow in finding their identity, passions, and grit.  Who knows, maybe some will start their own business? My favorite pastimes include gardening, backpacking, politics, and traveling. And I’m also up for coffee anytime!

I am the Operations Manager at Nexus Mentoring. Prior to Nexus, I was an Applications Engineer and Certified Technical Trainer at Xilinx, Inc (now AMD). I also worked as a Lead Teacher at Gateway Preschool Academy, dedicated to nurturing young minds and building strong foundations.  Nexus Mentoring is close to my heart, enabling me to guide and empower emerging professionals.  Beyond my professional roles, I enjoy walks, community volunteering, and crafts.  My focus is on making positive contributions through technology, education, mentorship and creative endeavors.

I am currently a board member for several non-profit organizations.  Prior to this role, I worked for nearly 30 years at Hewlett Packard in various technical marketing and customer support roles for several product lines including networking, software, and storage.  My last position prior to retiring from HP was as a Global Support Product Manager.  I am excited to be a part of Nexus Mentoring to help early career adults better understand who they are and unleash their potential for purposes much bigger than themselves.  I love spending time with my family, biking, fishing, barbecuing (low and slow kind), and gardening (especially uncommon fruit trees).

As a state attorney in CA for 28 years, I was responsible for prosecuting cases involving elder financial abuse, gangs, narcotics, and robberies, assaults and thefts. I also joined state-wide teams enforcing consumer protection laws. Nexus Mentoring is a way for me to know some of the young adults who will shape the future and to invest in them. I enjoy traveling, painting, playing piano, reading, journaling, hiking, and learning.

I was born and raised in Hong Kong. Upon completion of my undergraduate studies of BS Computer Engineering in British Columbia, Canada, I moved to San Jose, California to start my career as a software R&D engineer. I worked in the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry for over 35 years.  I also completed my MBA studies in Technology Management.  Two of the companies I worked for went public, and I was one of the early contributors to the companies.  I am married with two grown children. I currently serve as a board member of Nexus Mentoring, an elder of San Jose Christian Alliance Church and a Stephen Minister. I enjoy playing table tennis, skiing, traveling and writing custom apps.

Prior to joining Nexus as Advisor and Coach, I had a 20+ year career as a business and IT executive leader in Fortune 500 companies in the Bay Area.  My primary work focus was data management, digital technology, and leadership development.  I have a passion for growing organizations, driving results, and mentoring the next generation of leaders.

I have also served as a Director on several nonprofit boards such as Faith and Work Journey,  Menlo Church, and Denia Bridges Foundation supporting Christian youth programs in Spain.  I love helping others discover their purpose, set career goals, and navigate both the opportunities and challenges of work life and life balance.  I am excited to be part of the Nexus Mentoring team, guiding individuals in the pursuit of their career passions.

Personally, I enjoy walking, reading, traveling, hanging out with family and friends, and spoiling our grandchildren and fur-babies!

Coming Soon

I am an MIT PhD with 20 years of technical and managerial experience in ultra-low power digital circuit design of advanced mobile application processors at large international corporations (Texas Instruments, MediaTek) and wireless batteryless sensors at Everactive, a startup company.  I am currently an adjunct faculty in the Computer Science department of the University of Texas at Dallas.

I am part of Nexus Mentoring because I want to impart to the next generation a spirit of risk-taking and resilience when facing inevitable challenges in life.

I have rediscovered the local library and enjoy borrowing BlueRay movies and books. I also love listening to the Office Ladies podcast while doing a rewatch of the Office!

Over the years while living & working in Europe & the U.S., I've had the unique opportunity to mentor and coach young leaders from diverse backgrounds.  As friends on the journey, these women & men entrusted me with the opportunity to partner with them & their Creator in their transformation as people and leaders who will make the world a better place.

My belief is that Nexus Mentoring provides a gateway for leaders to be developed and empowered to live out their life mission as agents of change within their own tribes, the communities where they live and work, and among nations.  But the journey must begin within the leader.  Transformed leaders will lead others into transformation.

Prior to my retirement in March 2023, I spent the first half of my career as a Process Engineer in the semiconductor industry. For the second half, I joined the church staff and worked in many different roles and capacities over the years - an administrator, Children’s Ministry Director, and mentoring to young adults, women, and families. My passion is to walk alongside young people, strengthening parents and championing retirees to live out their life purpose and calling. It excites me to invest my time and energy in the Nexus mentoring team. In my free time, you can find me enjoying the outdoors, hiking, cooking, playing board games, and doting on my grandchildren.
